With your help, adult learners find jobs and earn degrees

Luis

Luis wanted to find a job where he could help others in the community. When Student Services Manager Tania Rivera met Luis, this was his goal. He started participating in Literacy Network’s Transitions program to learn about career and educational opportunities. Tania connected him to Centro Hispano to complete programs and improve his English language skills. Luis also took ESL classes at Madison College. Because of his hard work, time and commitment, Luis is now employed as a crisis counselor helping provide mental health services. Congratulations Luis on your success!

Nicole

Nicole entered the GED/HSED program in September 2020, never having worked with a tutor before. Previously she passed some of the GED exams, but still had two tests to complete. When she enrolled in Literacy Network’s program, her goal was to complete her GED by her 21st birthday in February 2021 and continue her education. Nicole met with a tutor weekly throughout the Fall semester. She had to complete her test using an online GED testing option – not an easy feat. On December 14, she passed her last test to complete her GED – ahead of her goal! Best wishes Nicole as you continue to work toward your dreams.
