The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has announced Literacy Network as a recipients of its second round of funding of its Vaccination Community Outreach Grant program. This grant program supports initiatives that provide culturally relevant vaccination information and lead outreach to promote vaccine acceptance.
With the support of this grant, Literacy Network will continue to provide current, accessible COVID-19 vaccination information to adults with low literacy in Dane County so that they can confidently make health-related decisions for themselves and their families. This will include curriculum development, interactive lessons, a needs survey, and additional efforts. More information about this initiative and other grant recipients is available here.
Literacy Network also received funding during DHS’s initial grant funding period in the spring of 2021. With this support, Literacy Network helped to increase vaccination rates among its target population from 26 to nearly 80 percent between April and June.
