Learn English

Our free English classes and tutoring services are funded to serve low-income individuals who live permanently in the U.S.

Are you here on a travel or other temporary visa such as B, F, J or H? Are you a professor, student or spouse of a scholar at UW-Madison? If either of these cases apply to you, Click Here.

If you would like to talk to a staff member about classes, call (608)244-3911.

Improve Your Reading, Writing, and Computer Skills

Do you need a tutor to help you read or write better? Your tutor will help you with things you want to learn so that you are able to read a book, write a letter, fill out a job application, learn how to use a computer, or understand information from your doctor. We are here to help and hold tutoring sessions across the Madison area on a weekly basis.

If you register to attend a tutoring group you must attend every week for the entire semester. To register or get more information contact Ezi Adesi, Director of Adult Basic Education, at (608)244-3911 ext 10 or email ezi@litnetwork.org.

Get Your GED or HSED

Literacy Network offers free, individualized, one-to-one tutoring for people in the Dane County community who want to complete a GED or HSED.

Students who work with Literacy Network tutors meet weekly for two hours to study for every subject of GED/HSED tests, including the math test. Tutors are available at different times of the week to work on whatever you want to focus on. You will work at your own pace to pass the tests!
